Ulcerative Colitis

First of all, I will introduce into the fantastic microscopy photography world through the web site www.microscopyu.com, a site of marks of cameras Nikon, that its called like “the source for microscopy education”. The page have differents areas, where teaching as use a camera, miscroscope and ways of modalities and strategies that it used in these type of photography.

For we approach at one area of the site, I will show in the option Gallery, where we find Digital images galleries, then we opt for Human Pathology Digital Images Gallery, which is a space where we can see: brightfield images of fixed and stained human pathological tissue sections.

Then, the images chosen is Ulcerative Colitis at 10x Magnification. Also, in the web sites tell as is a Ulcerative colitis, which is a chronic condition characterized by inflammation of the colon. The condition is very similar to Crohn’s disease and the two are commonly referred to collectively as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). IBD should not be confused with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which does not involve intestinal inflammation and is, therefore, considered a significantly less serious condition though it shares some symptoms in common with IBD, such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and increased passage of mucus. Other common symptoms of ulcerative colitis include loss of appetite, weight loss, fatigue, and bloody stool resulting from irritation of the small ulcers present in inflamed tissues. Frequently, the symptoms of individuals with ulcerative colitis go into remission for months or even years at a time before relapsing. (www.microspocopyu.com)
